Position Title: Paraplanner

Department: Financial Planning

Contract Type: Permanent

Reporting To: Financial Planning Assistant Manager

Role Summary:

The Paraplanner will collaborate closely with the Financial Planner and the Client Support Team to ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the advisory process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality advice and services to clients.
  • Assist the Financial Planner in client meetings, preparing necessary documentation and conducting relevant research.
  • Work alongside the Financial Planner and stakeholders to achieve the team's income goals.
  • Prepare the Financial Planner for client discussions by briefing them on specific client matters.
  • Engage with clients to gather information or clarify issues.
  • Collaborate with the Paraplanning Manager and team members to share best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate them to the Paraplanning Manager.
  • Manage personal workload effectively, setting and meeting realistic expectations.
  • Contribute positively to team success through collaboration and a proactive attitude.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments within Rathbones.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge by exploring new developments in tax, legal, and financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • CII Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent (Essential)
  • CII Chartered Financial Planner status (Desirable)

Experience & Skills:

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Paraplanner.
  • Experience working within a team of paraplanners under a paraplanning manager.
  • Familiarity with centrally developed tools, templates, and guidelines.
  • Ability to manage a personal work queue and ensure quality output.
  • Strong understanding of the UK tax regime, including CGT, IHIT, and SPLT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various pension arrangements.
  • Expertise in estate planning.
