About Your Role:

As an Educational Support Facilitator, you will assist individuals with complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, challenging behaviors, physical disabilities, and Mental Health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safeguarding of students at all times. Provide high-quality educational experiences and resources throughout the academic day, demonstrating flexibility and differentiation to meet students' diverse needs. Understand each student's targets within their EHCP/IDP and deliver the necessary support for them to achieve their objectives. Encourage all students to participate in sessions and maintain their engagement. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student files to a high standard. Contribute to the college's total communication approach. Model active support and assist Residential staff in effective strategies and best practices for addressing student needs, both in the classroom and during external learning activities. Create and maintain vibrant displays that celebrate students' achievements and diversity. Assist the lecturer in preparing and maintaining the learning environment to ensure it is conducive to education. Organize and facilitate activities and clubs during student breaks and lunchtimes. Ensure students have access to independent learning opportunities within the college and inclusive community settings. Foster effective partnerships with parents/carers to enhance students' learning and assist lecturers in communicating information about targets, achievements, and progress. Provide a high level of personal care to students, respecting their privacy and considering their cultural, age, and gender needs while training other staff to uphold these standards. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required. Cover for lecturers during planned absences, such as attending reviews and training. Step in for short-term sickness absences as necessary, planning and preparing sessions as needed. Assist in planning and executing offsite activities and organized trips, which may involve supporting students individually or in groups according to the College's risk assessments.

Role Requirements:

Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with students and staff. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team. Capability to organize classroom activities, including preparing resources and implementing teaching strategies. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Skill in helping students transfer their learning to various aspects of their lives. Initiative and flexibility in work approach. Commitment to attending training sessions. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills in building effective relationships with students and all stakeholders involved in their education.

All staff working in a service registered with Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) must register with Social Care Wales. You must also be prepared to pursue the necessary qualifications to meet registration requirements.
