Role Overview:

In the capacity of an Educational Support Facilitator, you will assist individuals with complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, challenging behaviors, physical disabilities, and Mental Health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safeguarding of students at all times. Provide high-quality educational experiences and resources throughout the academic day, demonstrating flexibility to meet individual student needs. Understand each student's targets as outlined in their EHCP/IDP and offer the necessary support to help them achieve their objectives. Facilitate student attendance and engagement during sessions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records. Contribute to the college's communication strategies. Model active support and assist Residential staff in best practices for meeting student needs, both in classroom settings and during external learning activities. Create and maintain vibrant displays that celebrate student achievements and diversity. Assist educators in preparing and maintaining the learning environment. Organize and lead activities during student breaks and lunchtimes. Ensure students have access to independent learning opportunities within the college and community. Foster effective partnerships with parents/carers to enhance student learning and provide updates on progress. Deliver personal care to students, respecting their privacy and cultural needs, while training other staff to uphold the same standards. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Cover for educators during planned absences and short-term sickness as necessary. Assist in planning and executing offsite activities and trips, which may include driving college vehicles when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with students and colleagues. Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach. Organizational skills for classroom activities and resource management. Capacity to handle sensitive information confidentially. Support students in applying their learning in various contexts. Initiative and flexibility in work approach. Willingness to engage in ongoing training. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students and staff.

All staff in registered services with Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) must register with Social Care Wales and work towards the necessary qualifications for registration.
