Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Trouw Nutrition. As a key member of our production and maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of CAPEX projects, managing maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with operating, safety, quality, risk, and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management:
- Develop and implement asset management plans and associated budgets to optimize total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of assets.
- Monitor obsolescence and risk associated with assets and develop mitigating action plans.
- Technical Projects:
- Direct the design and development of CAPEX projects, acting as project owner or project manager.
- Participate in assigned installation and/or process improvement projects, adhering to project management guidelines.
- Leadership and People Management:
- Provide leadership to your area in production and maintenance, setting individual objectives, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback.
- Manage and coach a team of professionals, motivating employees through sincere and concrete feedback, and taking appropriate action when needed.
- Maintenance Management:
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage all maintenance activities to rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions.
- Assess the nature of maintenance, study drawings and manuals, ensure the availability of necessary materials, parts, and tools, and plan the execution with relevant departments.
- Troubleshooting:
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems, and in offices and warehouses, through received messages.
- Locate the cause of the disturbance, determine whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assess the nature and extent of faults, and determine whether immediate repair is necessary and possible.
- Preventive/Planned Maintenance:
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules and carry out inspections in the context of preventive and corrective maintenance/overhaul.
- Assess the state of maintenance and report serious findings to production management; directly repair impending defects if possible.
- Ensure the planning and execution of corrective maintenance arising from inspections, at scheduled times.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new equipment, tools, and processes in maintenance and production to enhance capabilities.
- Monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
- Roll out best practices of maintenance (TPM, AM, PM,...); have a strong input to the site masterplan process.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk, and health regulations.
- Monitor working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees working in the area.
