Job Title: Band 7 Radiographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiographer to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a diagnostic radiographer with a special interest in cross-sectional imaging to gain valuable experience in paediatric imaging.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To carry out all aspects of paediatric MR and CT duties within the cross-sectional imaging suite to a high professional standard.
  • Undertake highly specialised MR and CT imaging techniques that require the operation of advanced acquisition and processing software with excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • To undertake MR/CT post-mortem pathology cases as required.
  • To supervise and train junior radiographic staff in all aspects of paediatric MR and CT imaging.
  • To assist with the development and implementation of training plans for radiographic staff.
  • To carry out clerical duties pertaining to the unit and related to radiographic work, assisting administrative personnel in appointment scheduling and handling queries.
  • To promote good working relationships and teamwork with the multi-disciplinary teams within the unit.
Person Specification:
  • DCR/BSc in Radiography
  • HPC Registration
  • MSc in Radiography or MSc in MR Imaging
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understanding the needs of the child
  • Ability to empathise with children and their parents
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Interest in working with children
  • Teaching skills, leadership skills in a team environment, ability to motivate others.
Contract Details:
  • Fixed term contract
  • 12 months duration
  • Full-time working pattern
  • Salary: £54,320 to £60,981 per annum pro rata
