Job Overview

The Public Relations and Media Strategy Lead will spearhead the SGS Group's Public Relations initiatives, aimed at enhancing SGS's image in the public domain, securing earned media exposure, and aligning with corporate goals. This role will collaborate with both global and local communication teams to formulate business and regional Public Relations plans.

Reporting Structure

The Public Relations and Media Strategy Lead is an essential part of the global communications team, reporting directly to the Group Vice-President of Investor Relations, Communications, and Sustainability. While this position does not have direct reports, it will coordinate efforts with investor relations, sustainability, global communications, marketing, copywriting, digital, brand, business, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and produce corporate press releases while liaising with various internal departments as necessary Cultivate relationships with key influential media outlets in significant international markets and Switzerland, balancing proactive and reactive communications to safeguard and elevate our reputation Formulate and execute the SGS corporate public relations strategy Demonstrate the ability to deliver impactful written and verbal communications on behalf of the Company Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance business or local Public Relations strategies. Manage corporate Public Relations engagements in critical markets, sharing insights and experiences with stakeholders as appropriate Supervise the Group crisis management protocol and assist with crisis communications in partnership with the crisis management team In collaboration with the Digital Analytics team, consistently monitor and report on SGS's media reputation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline 5-10+ years of experience in public relations and media Strong network of international and Swiss media contacts Proficiency in English (native or bilingual) and German (professional working proficiency); fluency in French is a plus Experience in an international setting with an understanding of complex organizational structures
