Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) position at Bicycle Therapeutics is a key leadership role that requires a strong scientific background and excellent leadership skills. As a member of the Quantitative Pharmacology group, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of DMPK scientists and collaborating with various professionals to support projects from target identification to regulatory submission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide DMPK scientific leadership: The Senior Director will be responsible for providing scientific leadership across all project stages, ensuring that DMPK activities are of high quality and meet the company's standards.
  • Oversee DMPK activities: The Senior Director will oversee the quality and performance of DMPK activities, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with core disciplines: The Senior Director will collaborate with core disciplines, including in-vivo pharmacology, to design experiments and integrate data for understanding peptide distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
  • Author and review documents: The Senior Director will be responsible for authoring and reviewing DMPK-related IND documents, ensuring that they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Manage budgets and resources: The Senior Director will manage DMPK budgets and ensure that quality data is delivered on time.
  • Support leadership and staff development: The Senior Director will support the leadership of the Quantitative Pharmacology group and junior staff development, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements:

  • PhD in drug metabolism, pharmacology, or pharmaceutical sciences: The successful candidate will have a PhD in drug metabolism, pharmacology, or pharmaceutical sciences, with a strong background in DMPK science and related disciplines.
  • Experience in DMPK drug discovery and/or development projects: The successful candidate will have experience in DMPK drug discovery and/or development projects, with a strong understanding of DMPK problem-solving.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills: The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various professionals and stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in peptides-macrocycles: The successful candidate will have previous experience in peptides-macrocycles, with a strong understanding of their properties and behavior.
  • Experience in radio-pharm projects: The successful candidate will have experience in radio-pharm projects, with a strong understanding of their requirements and challenges.
