In this position, you will be an integral part of our reception team, engaging with a diverse patient population and ensuring they receive outstanding service. While prior experience in a primary care setting is advantageous, we are open to providing training for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, thrive in high-pressure situations, manage their time effectively, and demonstrate flexibility. You should be capable of working both collaboratively and independently.

This role offers part-time hours, with fixed shifts that candidates must be available to work. Previous experience in a reception role is beneficial but not mandatory. A natural ability to connect with patients and colleagues, along with empathy and a positive demeanor, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient flow at the reception area for appointments, prescription requests, and inquiries.
  • Handle incoming calls from patients, discussing their symptoms to guide them to the appropriate services.
  • Make and receive phone calls as necessary, ensuring accurate message delivery.
  • Schedule appointments using our management system, processing requests for both immediate and future appointments.
  • Address patient inquiries with efficiency and courtesy.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the clinical and practice teams as required.
  • Receive specimens from patients and maintain cleanliness in the reception area.
  • Regularly monitor task lists and assist with home visit requests.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the clinical team to fulfill requests and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Provide coverage during staff absences and assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Perform any additional tasks that support the smooth operation of the practice as directed by management.

About Our Practice

We are a single GP practice operating across two sites, dedicated to serving a patient population of approximately 29,000. Nestled in a picturesque area, we are a growing practice that values teamwork and is eager to welcome a new receptionist to our friendly and dedicated staff.

As the largest practice within our local healthcare network, we are continuously evolving and expanding. Our team consists of around 90 professionals, including both clinical and administrative staff.

We promote ongoing education and encourage our team members to explore topics of interest while embracing new ideas and innovations.
