Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at The Celtic Collection. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Chefs in managing the kitchen and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring that all stock is correctly labelled and rotated.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times, and that all cleaning requirements are met.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Guarantee that all food items are received and checked against the invoice, then stored in the correct manner.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a comprehensive knowledge of kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Ability to manage a budget and make cost-effective decisions.
  • NVQ qualifications (or equivalent) in culinary arts.
