About the Role

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Experienced Young People Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Leaving Care Service, you will play a vital role in supporting care experienced young people aged 16-25 in achieving their goals and living independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out pathway plans reviews, statutory visits, and risk assessments for care experienced young people in Lincolnshire.
  • Offer information, advice, guidance, and support with accommodation, health, education, employment, and independent living skills.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies to provide information, advice, and guidance on employment, education, and training, finance, and health issues.
  • Assist specialist workers in supporting care experienced young people to attain their employment, housing, educational, and emotional wellbeing aspirations.
  • Manage own diary, workload, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
Requirements
  • Good level of knowledge and competency in the use of IT, including Microsoft programs and internal platforms and systems.
  • Experience of professional report writing skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a self-managed demanding role.
  • Participation in the delivery of the Urgent Support service.
  • Essential driving license and ability to travel nationwide, occasional overnight stays.
