If your answer is affirmative, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

At Mountain Healthcare, we are in search of dedicated, passionate, and resilient professionals to become part of our exceptional teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals.

Career Opportunity

This role presents an exciting alternative career path for Registered General Nurses (RGNs) and qualified Paramedics with over three years of post-qualification experience.

The custody environment is dynamic and varied, ensuring that no two days are alike. During the police's 24-hour detention period, we deliver a high standard of care to detainees, addressing diverse needs ranging from substance dependency to acute medical situations.

Our skilled healthcare professionals are also trained to collect forensic samples, aiding police investigations.

Prior experience in forensics is not a requirement. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will collaborate closely with law enforcement and receive comprehensive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

Work Schedule

If you are finding it challenging to achieve a satisfactory work-life balance and seek clearer boundaries, this position could be suitable for you.

The 4-on-4-off shift pattern allows for advanced personal life planning. This schedule consists of two day shifts, two night shifts, followed by four days off.

This position is exclusively for Bank Vacancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting forensic sampling (including blood tests for road traffic offenses).
  • Providing referrals and support for vulnerabilities, assisting patients in breaking cycles of re-offending.
  • Implementing substance misuse therapies.
  • Assessing and caring for detainees and staff within custody suites.
  • Managing acute medical conditions.
  • Encouraging good personal health practices.
  • Collaborating with Liaison and Diversion services to identify mental health needs.
Essential Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification.
  • A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in acute medical care.

Previous experience in areas such as A&E, walk-in centers, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, or prison settings would be advantageous.
