About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Mountain Healthcare Ltd as a Forensic Healthcare Specialist, working in a dynamic and lively environment within the police custody suite.

As a Forensic Healthcare Specialist, you will provide high-quality care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes.

You will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collecting forensic samples to assist the police with their investigations.
  • Providing signposting and conducting referrals for detainees with vulnerabilities.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies and promoting good personal healthcare.
  • Assessing and caring for detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Managing acute disease and working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Requirements

  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Acute medical healthcare experience.
  • Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or other relevant disciplines would be ideal.
