About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Nurse or Paramedic to join our team as a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional at Mountain Healthcare Ltd.

This is an exciting alternative career option for RGNs and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post-qualification experience.

As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes.

Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples, which can assist the police with their investigations.

Experience within forensics is not necessary, and we welcome applications from individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional patient-centred services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality care to detainees and their needs
  • Collecting forensic samples and assisting the police with their investigations
  • Working closely with the police and receiving training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies and promoting good personal healthcare
  • Assessing and caring for detainees and staff in custody suites
  • Managing acute disease and promoting good health practices

Person Specification

  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Acute medical healthcare experience
  • Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse or other relevant discipline
