Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical professional to provide senior clinical leadership to our South East London Integrated Community Pathway Service (ICPS). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a specialist psychological service to the multi-disciplinary team and to individuals on probation who experience personality difficulties and pose a high risk of harm to others.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Specialist Psychological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users with mental health difficulties, personality difficulties, and high harm offending histories, utilizing complex data from various sources, including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews.
  2. Formulate and Implement Treatment Plans: Develop and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's clinical problems and risk, based on an appropriate conceptual framework and employing methods with evidence of efficacy.
  3. Implement Psychological Interventions: Provide a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
  4. Contribute to Professional Development: Participate in internal and external CPD training and development programs, ensuring the highest professional standards of practice, and contribute to the assessment and evaluation of such competencies.
  5. Provide Clinical Supervision: Offer clinical supervision and professional management for qualified clinical/forensic/counselling psychologists and other psychological therapists, ensuring they continue to acquire the necessary skills, competencies, and experience to contribute effectively to healthcare.
  6. Lead Service Development: Help lead the development of the OPD community Pathway services across London, involving clinical staff and representatives from other agencies as appropriate.
  7. Contribute to Service Evaluation: Contribute to the development, evaluation, and monitoring of the service's operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation, and audit.
  8. Provide Specialist Advice: Offer specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service user's formulation and intervention plan.
Management Responsibilities
  1. Manage Staff Workloads: Manage the workloads of the staff in the service, within the framework of the Trust's policies and procedures.
  2. Coordinate Recruitment: Take responsibility for co-ordinating the shortlisting and interviewing of new staff.
  3. Ensure Compliance: Ensure staff operate to the standards required by the regulators and the Codes of Practice of relevant professional bodies and comply with Trust policies and procedures.
  4. Provide Day-to-Day Management: Provide day-to-day management within the Service line, ensuring that staff are able to contribute effectively to the achievement of objectives and targets.
  5. Registration and Certification: Maintain registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or equivalent regulatory body relevant to your profession.
Leadership and Communication
  1. Provide Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership within the Integrated Community Pathway Service, ensuring the effective working of the team and a psychologically informed framework for the team and wider service.
  2. Develop Professional Skills: Develop skills in the area of professional post-graduate teaching, training, and supervision and provide supervision to other staff's psychological work as appropriate.
  3. Maintain Clinical Records: Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping, including electronic data entry and recording, report writing, and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice.
