We are currently seeking a Transport Manager to oversee our logistics operations. This role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to the management of our internal vehicle fleet. The transport manager will engage in both internal and select external logistics within the Lush Manufacturing network. Overseeing a compact fleet of vehicles alongside a dedicated driving team, the transport manager will ensure the seamless movement of production room inventory, supplying some of the busiest Lush facilities worldwide. This includes the transportation of raw materials, fresh products, and essential equipment, making the internal fleet a vital component of the Lush business model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the company operator licence.
  • Ensure compliance with legal operator licence requirements (restricted).
  • Develop and maintain a vehicle maintenance schedule for periodic inspections as per operator licence.
  • Oversee vehicle road fund licence and M.O.T. compliance.
  • Coordinate with repair services for maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records in accordance with DVSA standards.
  • Monitor driver compliance with tachograph hours and recording regulations.
  • Manage databases for driver hours and vehicle activities.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping for compliance with the Working Time Directive.
  • Conduct periodic DVLA checks on driver licences.
  • Facilitate ongoing training for drivers, including CPC and ADR training.
  • Provide drivers with necessary protective clothing and equipment.
  • Evaluate bulk fuel supply pricing, manage fuel cards, and verify fuel invoices.
  • Handle vehicle hire and replacement processes.
  • Oversee vehicle acquisition and disposal.
  • Communicate with manufacturing staff regarding logistical needs and stock requirements.
  • Maintain daily communication with drivers to keep them informed of requests and movements.
