Job Title: Learning Disabilities Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join our team at Thornbury Community Services. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling our clients to live safe and fulfilled lives, achieving their personal goals, learning new hobbies, and participating in community activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients with learning disabilities in their daily lives, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Assist with personal care, medication management, and mobility needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment, adhering to our organization's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months of experience working with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Confidence in performing physical interventions, including restraint training.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality care and support.
