Job Title: Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Thornbury Community Services. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with learning disabilities to live safe and fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

As a Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients with learning disabilities. This will involve working closely with our clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet their unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing physical and emotional support to clients with learning disabilities
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care and medication management
  • Supporting clients to engage in activities and hobbies that promote their physical and mental well-being
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to clients and their families
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience working with adults with learning disabilities
  • Confidence in performing physical interventions, including restraint training
  • Experience working with clients with autism, mental health conditions, and other complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to providing high-quality care and support to clients with learning disabilities
