Job Summary:

The Best Jobs is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Steward to join our team at Elton Liberal Club. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our club, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting our events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the club for daily opening and closing, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for members and guests.
  • Respond to member inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff rotas, time sheets, and holidays, working closely with the Steward to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and promoting our product range.
  • Organize and manage bar stock, cellar, and cleaning schedules, working closely with the Steward and Manager to ensure efficient operations.
  • Reconcile till roll totals daily, ensuring accuracy and transparency in our financial transactions.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to meet the demands of club activities and events, with a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive and welcoming experience for members and guests.
  • Innovative and proactive approach, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Experience in managing and training staff, with a focus on developing a high-performing team.
  • Experience in bar stock and cellar management, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Local residency is an advantage, due to key holder responsibilities and occasional cover for staff holidays.
