Pharmacy Technician – Patient Care Services

Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. The successful candidates will be stationed at our healthcare facilities, where they will play a crucial role in patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting clinical duties on the wards, which encompass patient counselling and medication transcribing.
- Dispensing medications for both in-patients and out-patients.
- Evaluating patients' personal medications and compiling their medication histories.
- Providing counselling during patient discharge.
We offer a thorough training program designed to enhance your skills as a clinical technician. This program includes:
- Participation in the Regional Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) Scheme.
- Gaining proficiency in assessing Patients' Own Drugs.
- Developing skills in medication history taking.
The ideal candidate will possess an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent qualification and must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. We welcome applications from newly qualified technicians as well as those nearing qualification. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and some experience in a hospital setting are essential.
Main Responsibilities
Dispense medications for in-patients, out-patients, and discharged patients under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Conduct assessments of patients' own medications and complete drug histories.
