Job Overview

The Anticoagulant and Phlebotomy Service Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction to the anticoagulation and phlebotomy teams across the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal service delivery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the anticoagulation and phlebotomy teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that promote safe and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives, including quality improvement projects and research studies.
  • Provide education and training to staff on anticoagulation and phlebotomy best practices, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals, to ensure that patient needs are met and that services are responsive to community needs.
  • Manage and oversee the financial and operational aspects of the anticoagulation and phlebotomy services, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse (NMC) with a degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as anticoagulation or phlebotomy.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in anticoagulation and phlebotomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
