Job Overview

The Anticoagulant and Phlebotomy Service Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction to the anticoagulation and phlebotomy teams across the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal service delivery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the anticoagulation and phlebotomy teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that promote safe and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in patient care and service delivery.
  • Provide education and training to staff on anticoagulation and phlebotomy best practices, ensuring staff are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage and oversee the financial and operational aspects of the anticoagulation and phlebotomy services, ensuring effective resource allocation and utilization.
Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse (NMC) with further relevant training in anticoagulation and phlebotomy.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification and mentorship qualification.
  • Recognized qualification in anticoagulation and experience in working in anticoagulation and/or phlebotomy at a team leadership level.
  • Proven track record of leading changes in practice to improve performance and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions to drive service improvement.
