Job Summary:

Supporting Futures Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advocacy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a premium service prioritized according to risk, focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse, to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
  • Run group training sessions and share specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
  • Have knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse.
  • Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
  • Understand safeguarding issues and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
  • Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
  • Have excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of domestic abuse, including its impact on victims and their children.
  • Understanding of equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
  • Hybrid working arrangement, with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
