We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team in London. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality support to victims of domestic abuse, working in a hybrid model that combines face-to-face and virtual support.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about supporting victims of domestic abuse. As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Providing a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritized according to risk.
- Working within a multi-agency framework to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
- Sharing your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good understanding of domestic abuse, including its impact on victims and their children.
- Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- A commitment to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
