About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Handling Trainer to join our team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT. As a Manual Handling Trainer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality training to our staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain a high standard of manual handling training in a classroom setting and across various workplaces.
  • Provide manual handling assessment of competence for individuals within the workplace.
  • Develop and update manual handling courses in accordance with best practice and current legislation.
  • Keep accurate manual handling training registers to assist the OLM team in maintaining employee learning records.
  • Evaluate the competency of all Trust staff on manual handling training courses to negate risk and ensure legislative compliance.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Teaching/training qualification or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continued professional development related to manual handling.
  • Relevant experience of delivering manual handling training to multi-disciplinary groups.
  • Relevant experience of assessing manual handling competence in the classroom and in the workplace.
  • Relevant experience of using a range of methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of manual handling training.
