We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Element Solutions Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of our Integrated Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS), and Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Analyze data and calculate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate and record training for employees, including site safety inductions and competency management
- Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances
- Perform daily checks and record data, including monitoring and recording the performance of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems
- Collect and analyze data to generate results for required KPIs
- Submit KPIs for approval and generate information for quarterly management system reviews and statutory reporting
- Manage employee medical checks, waste consignment notes, and fire extinguisher servicing
- Perform site safety inductions for contractors and new employees
- NEBOSH General Certificate in H&S or Environmental Management (or equivalent)
- NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Assessment (or equivalent)
- NVQ 4 Occupational Health and Safety
- WAMMITAB
- NVQ 4 Managing Treatment of Hazardous Waste
- Train the Trainer: Manual Handling
- Experience working with chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working on a COMAH site (preferred)
- Experience carrying out risk assessments (preferred)
- Experience carrying out internal audit programs (preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant discipline or position
- Ability to demonstrate a data-driven approach that has achieved continuous improvement
- Good people management skills
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of improvement methodologies
- Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
