The Role: Blood Donor Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking nurse to join our team at the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). In this crucial role, you will contribute to ensuring the health and well-being of both donors and patients. Your responsibilities will encompass venepuncture, medical selection duties, and supporting the smooth operation of various blood donation sessions, including Apheresis, whole blood, and blood component collections.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the management and seamless execution of blood donation sessions, ensuring donors feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued.
  • Perform venepuncture and medical selection duties while upholding the highest standards of patient care.
  • Actively participate in training and quality assurance initiatives to maintain excellence within the service.

The Ideal Candidate:

You must possess current NMC registration. A willingness to travel to multiple locations is essential. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are crucial for success in this role. You should also demonstrate an active interest in training and quality assurance.

Flexibility to work variable hours, including Sundays and late evenings, is a requirement of this position.
