The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced nurse to join our team at the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of donors and patients, contributing to the smooth operation of blood donation sessions. The role involves venepuncture and medical selection duties, requiring flexibility to work variable hours and travel to multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the management and smooth running of blood donation sessions, ensuring donors feel welcome and valued.
  • Undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Engage actively in training and quality assurance initiatives to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Experience in blood transfusion or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
