Job Title: Building Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Safety Officer to join our team at Great Places Housing Group. As a Building Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our properties, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage fire risk assessment actions within our fire risk assessment portal, ensuring timely completion and uploading of compliance evidence.
  • Assist with the management and operational delivery of fire-related contracts and contractors.
  • Provide effective liaison with colleagues to communicate customer information and resolve issues related to property access and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of communal areas, blocks, and individual flats to ensure they are managed effectively and safely.
  • Monitor the building and fire safety inbox, providing competent advice on general fire and building safety queries.
  • Work with partners to create and maintain a matrix of fire and building safety responsibilities.
  • Verify and report certification and reports produced by in-house staff or contractors.
  • Undertake post-inspections of works and maintain effective records and administrative systems.
  • Record and report KPI data in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Nebosh Fire Certificate or equivalent.
  • Level 4 award in Asset and Building Management Compliance (or willingness to work towards).
  • Technical knowledge of emergency lighting, fire detection systems, and AOVs.
  • Excellent understanding of building safety and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of fire and building safety legislation within a repairs and asset management team.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Organisation and time management skills.
  • Able to deliver high-quality customer service.
