About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker Team Leader to join our team in the Burwell-Cambridge area. This is a part-time position, requiring 20 hours of work per week, with a rotating schedule that may vary each week. The working hours will be between 9:30am and 6:30pm, with a pay rate of 14.40 per hour and 15.05 per hour at weekends. Additionally, Team Leaders will receive an extra 173 per month.

Our client is a charming gentleman in his 70s who suffered a traumatic brain injury and orthopaedic injuries in a road traffic accident. He is a lifelong resident of Cambridge, well-traveled, and enjoys staying informed about news, politics, and current affairs. He appreciates engaging in conversations about these topics, as well as history and the places he has visited. He also loves going out to different places for lunch and coffee.

Our client experiences dysarthria, which sometimes makes communication challenging. Therefore, support workers should be patient, have a strong command of English, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality checks of support worker tasks and notes
  • Organize and chair team meetings
  • Check and authorize monthly timesheets
  • Approve annual leave and arrange cover as needed
  • Serve as the point of contact for staff regarding sick leave
  • Complete monthly wellbeing audits
  • Participate in the recruitment and induction of new staff
Requirements

Essential Requirements
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by Home Care Direct)
  • You must be a driver aged 25 years (for insurance purposes) or over with a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle due to the location of the client
  • Good use of and understanding of English and communication skills due to client needs
  • Prepared to commit to long-term care for one client in a person-centered way
  • Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
