Job Overview

The Forestry Commission is in search of a dedicated Woodland Operations Specialist to join our team. This role involves working within the East England Forest District, primarily focusing on the management and maintenance of forested areas. Role Responsibilities

As a Woodland Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing essential forestry tasks including tree planting, site maintenance, and ecological restoration.
  • Conducting inspections and assessments to ensure the safety and vitality of the forest.
  • Collaborating with a team of professionals to implement forest management strategies effectively.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment to the highest safety standards.

Work Environment

This position requires a commitment to working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should possess physical and mental resilience, as the role demands a blend of manual labor and problem-solving skills. The standard workweek consists of 37 hours, with potential for additional hours as needed to fulfill operational demands.

Qualifications and Skills
