Job Overview

The Forestry Commission is in search of a dedicated Forest Operations Specialist to join our team within the East England Forest District. This role is primarily based in a picturesque forest environment, where you will engage in various forestry tasks that contribute to the health and sustainability of our woodlands.

Working Hours

The standard working week consists of 37 hours, typically from 07:00 to 15:00, with a slightly earlier finish on Fridays. There may be opportunities for overtime as required by operational needs.

Role Responsibilities

As a Forest Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing a variety of tasks including large-scale tree planting, mechanical weeding, and maintenance of forest infrastructure.
  • Maintaining high standards of work while operating independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in your approach to diverse tasks.

This position requires a strong commitment to working outdoors in varying weather conditions, demanding both physical stamina and mental resilience.
