About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a key member of our residential service, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage and support young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in a safe and caring environment.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture within the residential homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable.
  • A full UK driver's licence and a car are required for transporting young people.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
  • You must be able to commute to Smethwick.
