Vocational Training Specialist in Engineering Machinist Apprenticeship

As a Vocational Training Specialist, you will oversee the implementation of a designated vocational education program, ensuring the delivery of exceptional instruction and managing daily operational tasks. Your role will be pivotal in motivating and inspiring students to achieve their highest potential through effective teaching methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Provide high-quality instruction and assessment in a specific vocational discipline, adhering to established college standards and relevant accrediting bodies. Prepare instructional materials, develop lesson plans, and enhance the curriculum while conducting quality assurance in collaboration with fellow staff members. Assess student performance, monitor progress, and maintain communication with stakeholders regarding academic outcomes.
- Course Management: Handle daily course management tasks, including communication, problem resolution, and timetable adjustments. Ensure compliance with internal verification processes and liaise with various departments to maintain organizational efficiency.
- Workplace Engagement: Conduct site visits to students' workplaces, setting skill development targets in collaboration with students and employers. Monitor progress and assess competencies in accordance with industry standards.
- Candidate Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment and selection of candidates for vocational programs, managing enrollment processes effectively to ensure students are placed in appropriate courses.
- Student Support: Facilitate regular meetings with students to set and review achievable goals, provide guidance on academic and personal matters, and connect them with college support services.
- Performance Monitoring: Track student attendance and academic performance, administering course evaluations and reporting on retention and achievement metrics.
- English and Maths Promotion: Support the integration of English and Maths instruction within vocational training, monitoring student engagement and attendance.
- Collaboration and Development: Participate in meetings and events, collaborating with colleagues to enhance course offerings and training methods. Engage in professional development activities and peer observations to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Administrative Duties: Manage departmental administration tasks, including attendance tracking, assessment reporting, and participation in quality assurance processes.
