Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Digital Communications Officer to join our client's team in Whitechapel.

This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to shape and execute a dynamic social media strategy for the Mayor of Tower Hamlets.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, encompassing content creation and management across various platforms.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Mayor and Cabinet on all aspects of social media engagement.
  • Leverage social media channels to effectively promote the Mayor's message and initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance the mayoral blog, ensuring its relevance and impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize their social media presence and amplify reach.
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to continuously refine strategies and maximize engagement.
  • Represent the Mayor at events and engagements, capturing compelling content for social media promotion.
  • Provide regular reports on social media progress and address any pertinent issues with the Mayor and communications team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a similar digital or social media role.
  • In-depth knowledge of major social platforms, content creation best practices, SEO principles, and algorithmic trends.
  • Proficiency in editing tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent software.
  • Experience within the public sector or government environment is highly desirable.
