About the Role:

Novax Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Social Media Communications Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time contract position focused on enhancing the digital presence of the Mayor of Tower Hamlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for the Mayor, ensuring consistent and engaging content across all platforms.
  • Provide expert advice to the Mayor and Cabinet on social media initiatives and best practices.
  • Utilize various social media channels to effectively communicate the Mayor's messages and activities.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the mayoral blog, ensuring it remains current and relevant.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the social media footprint.
  • Analyze KPIs and metrics to continuously refine and improve social media engagement and reach.
  • Attend relevant events to capture content and promote activities through social media.
  • Regularly report on social media performance and address any pertinent issues with the Mayor and communications team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a digital or social media role.
  • In-depth understanding of major social media platforms and expertise in creating compelling content, alongside knowledge of SEO and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with editing software such as Adobe Premiere and similar tools.
  • Experience in the public sector or government environment is preferred.
