About the Role
The School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London seeks a dedicated Digital Learning Technologist to champion innovative learning practices within our dynamic academic environment. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional support to both staff and students, empowering them to leverage digital technologies effectively for teaching, learning, and assessment.
Your Responsibilities
- Drive the integration of cutting-edge technology into educational processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in learning experiences.
- Provide comprehensive guidance and training to faculty and students on the utilization of various learning technologies, including virtual learning environments (Moodle expertise is highly valued).
- Collaborate with academic teams to design and implement engaging digital learning solutions that enhance student engagement and outcomes.
- Maintain and optimize core learning management systems, ensuring seamless functionality and accessibility for all users.
About You
You possess a deep understanding of the principles underpinning technology-enhanced learning. Your experience extends to utilizing virtual learning environments at various levels—administrator, designer, instructor, and user. A proven track record in delivering educational development and training on effective learning technologies is essential.
Furthermore, you demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with individuals from diverse backgrounds and technical expertise.
About the School of Engineering and Materials Science
This position is situated within the vibrant School of Engineering and Materials Science. We are a large and diverse community comprising 110 academics, a similar number of postdoctoral research staff, approximately 1500 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, and 220 PhD students. Our administrative and technical support team comprises 45 dedicated individuals.
