Become a vital part of the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, where we focus on maintaining and enhancing the technology within our expansive Warehouse and Delivery Network.

We are seeking a dedicated technician who thrives in a collaborative environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our equipment is maintained safely and to the highest standards.

By concentrating on planned preventative maintenance, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating risks by proactively addressing and resolving issues. Your daily efforts will be aimed at improving the availability and quality of our equipment.

Our technicians work closely with the operational team and their customers, receiving support from both peers and leadership.

Shift Pattern:

This position requires flexibility, including the possibility of working nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize health and safety best practices in all tasks, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance across the full spectrum of equipment on site.
  • Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, communicating effectively with impacted teams and working efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and providing feedback and suggestions for enhancements through your line manager.
  • Ensure high levels of equipment availability for our internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
  • Oversee contractor management as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completion of a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent (must possess Level 3 qualification with satisfactory Guided Learning Hours).
  • Proficient in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Skilled in fault finding within Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and automation systems.
  • Adept at interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience in maintaining conveyor systems and motor controllers/inverters.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Apprentice trained, HNC, HND, BSc, or BEng.
  • Familiarity with high voltage switching.
  • Experience with sortation machinery.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and configuring barcode scanners.
  • Experience with print and apply machines.
  • Competence in fault finding on building equipment such as HVAC, dock doors, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
