Become a vital part of the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, where we focus on maintaining and enhancing the technologies that power our Global Warehouse & Delivery Network.

We are in search of a dedicated technician who thrives in a collaborative environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our equipment is maintained safely and to the highest standards.

Your role will involve:

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance to mitigate risks and proactively resolve issues.
  • Enhancing the availability and quality of our equipment daily.
  • Collaborating closely with our operational teams and supporting them with your expertise.

Shift Pattern: This position may require working in non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize health and safety best practices in all tasks, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of site equipment.
  • Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, maintaining clear communication with affected teams and working efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and providing feedback and suggestions for enhancements through your line manager.
  • Ensure high levels of equipment availability for our internal customers.
  • Work alongside and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
  • Oversee contractor management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot within Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and automation systems.
  • Capability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with conveyor maintenance and motor controllers/inverters.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Apprentice trained, HNC, HND, BSc, or BEng qualifications.
  • Experience with high voltage switching.
  • Familiarity with sortation machines.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and configuring barcode scanners.
  • Experience with print and apply machines.
  • Skills in troubleshooting building equipment such as HVAC, dock doors, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
