Maintenance Reliability Specialist
Salary - Competitive and commensurate with experience
Permanent, Full time (39 hours per week, Monday - Friday)
Join our esteemed engineering team at Premier Foods, where we take pride in producing some of the UK's most beloved baked goods. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Reliability Specialist to enhance our operational efficiency.
In this role, you will be tasked with developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies for our equipment, focusing on optimizing both preventative and proactive maintenance to meet reliability and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and refine a comprehensive maintenance program that ensures the reliability of all electrical and mechanical assets within your manufacturing area.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalating maintenance issues or breakdown support from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to maximize the utilization of equipment, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Develop and maintain effective maintenance plans, including technical documentation and procedures, in support of the Site Capital Plan.
- Assist in the formulation of future capital expenditure plans by analyzing equipment obsolescence.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, safety, efficiency, and reducing waste.
- Work towards achieving agreed savings in controllable manufacturing costs in relation to factory volume changes.
- Transition the engineering maintenance approach from reactive to a proactive, Right First Time philosophy.
- Utilize Continuous Improvement tools, such as Root Cause Analysis, to assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or automation disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance, with specific expertise in bakery and process equipment.
- Familiarity with Original Equipment Manufacturer Asset Care guidelines.
- Strong organizational and planning skills relevant to managing overhaul activities and machine upgrades.
