About the Role

Buckles Solicitors LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team. As a specialist in contentious probate, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal services to our clients, working closely with our team to achieve excellent results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on a broad spectrum of contentious probate cases, including I(PFD)A 1975 claims, construction and rectification claims, court of protection disputes, executor disputes, trustee disputes, proprietary estoppel claims, and challenges to Wills.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Take part in departmental meetings, appraisals, and other meetings as required to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Deliver individual targets with supervision, working closely with the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Project the image that the firm wishes to project, promoting the firm's reputation and values.
  • Identify and undertake practice development activity to promote the firm's contentious probate specialism, caseload, and client base.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Adhere to agreed firm standards and quality procedures, maintaining neat and proper files on all matters to meet ISO standards.
  • Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner, delegating and cross-referencing work effectively to appropriate personnel.
  • Continually develop technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements, demonstrating continuous improvement in all areas of work.
Requirements
  • Preferably an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor, but applications from less experienced candidates with an interest in and aptitude for this area are also considered.
  • Good technical knowledge relating to the role or the ability to assimilate knowledge while undertaking the role.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Pro-active and takes the initiative.
  • Personable and confident, able to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload.
