About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team at Buckles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal services to our clients in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Dispute Resolution team to deliver on agreed cases and support the wider team as required.
  • Engage in a broad spectrum of contentious probate work, including:
    • I(PFD)A 1975 claims
    • Construction and rectification claims
    • Court of Protection disputes
    • Executor disputes
    • Trustee disputes
    • Proprietary estoppel claims
    • Challenges to Wills
  • Attract work according to the needs of the firm and raise the profile of the firm within the chosen marketplace.
  • Take part in departmental meetings, appraisals, and any other meetings as required.
  • Be seen to deliver and support management in the following areas:
    • Working with other team members on a variety of cases
    • Delivery of individual targets with supervision
    • Projecting the image that the firm wishes to project
    • Identifying and undertaking practice development activity to promote the firm, specifically the contentious probate specialism, caseload, and client base of the firm
    • Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and building appropriate relationships with clients.
    • Adherence to agreed firm standards and quality procedures and management systems.
    • Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
    • Delegate and cross-refer work effectively to appropriate personnel.
    • Continually develop technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements and demonstrate continuous improvement in all areas of work.
    Requirements
    • You will preferably be an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor, but applications for less experienced candidates with an interest in and aptitude for this area are also considered.
    • You will have good technical knowledge relating to the role or be capable of assimilating knowledge whilst undertaking the role.
    • You will be a team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
    • Pro-active and takes the initiative.
    • Personable and confident, able to build relations with people at all levels.
    • Ability to effectively manage own workload.
