Position Overview

Required Availability:

Candidates should be available for client assignments during the hours of 8 am to 12 pm, with additional peak times from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Responsibilities of Home Instead Care Professionals include:

  • Conducting visits of at least one hour in the client's residence.
  • Providing assistance with personal care routines.
  • Administering or reminding clients about their medications.
  • Performing light cleaning tasks.
  • Shopping and handling various errands.
  • Offering companionship and emotional support.
  • Preparing meals.
  • Supporting clients with nutrition and hydration needs.
  • Collaborating with Home Instead and maintaining daily records.
  • Fostering strong relationships and personal connections with clients.

Required Qualifications

Home Instead Care Professionals receive training in the following areas:

  • Personal care and hygiene.
  • Medication administration and management.
  • Basic life support techniques.
  • Safe moving and handling practices.
  • Food safety protocols.
  • Awareness of dementia care.
  • Fire safety measures.
  • Adult safeguarding principles.
  • Commitment to achieving a Care Certificate.

Additional Information

The hiring process includes:

  • Completing an application and participating in an in-person interview.
  • Providing successful references.
  • Engaging in paid in-house training and online learning modules.
  • Undergoing a clear enhanced DBS check (cost reimbursed after three months of service).
  • Shadowing experienced care professionals while working with clients.
  • Having personal transportation is essential – business insurance coverage is required.
