Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Birchwood Heights. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of Care Assistants and managing the day-to-day needs of our residents. You will be responsible for delivering the highest standard of care, ensuring all areas are kept clean and tidy, and supporting family members and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Care Assistants to deliver exceptional care to our residents.
  • Manage the day-to-day needs of our residents, including their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Deliver the highest standard of care, ensuring the safety and dignity of our residents at all times.
  • Ensure all areas of the care home are kept clean and tidy, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents.
  • Support family members and visitors, providing them with information and reassurance about their loved ones.
  • Assist with meals and daily activities, promoting a sense of community and social interaction among our residents.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in delivering care or as a Senior Care Assistant.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or willing to sign up or working towards it).
  • Trained in medication administration.
  • Excellent people and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, and colleagues.
  • Ability to induct and supervise junior staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Time management skills to delegate tasks within a team, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to write and maintain care plans.
  • Caring attitude, with a commitment to delivering exceptional care to our residents.
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including days and nights.
