Night Residential Children's Practitioner (Level 2) - Springwood

Springwood is a residential home in Norwich, providing comprehensive care to young people with diverse needs, including those with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral challenges.

We seek highly motivated, resilient, and empathetic team members with a positive attitude, humor, and tenacity to support children and young people in reaching their full potential. Experienced individuals who can lead shifts and guide junior staff are ideal candidates.

Our team works across the week, including weekends and bank holidays, with unsociable hours, night work, and sleep ins. This role involves predominantly night work, with some day work for training, development, and supervision.

Our approach to practice is guided by the 'Vital Signs for Children' practice vision, enabling us to work as a whole system and with a whole family approach to assessment and intervention.

We use a relationship-based approach to build consistent and trusted relationships with children and families, identifying and building on their strengths to create positive change. Outcome-focused practice ensures we achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Following a comprehensive induction and training program, your duties will include:


• Supporting and providing meaningful day-to-day activities to help children and young people develop their emotional and social needs by building positive relationships.


• Developing personal and practical skills to enhance young people's independence skills.


• Ensuring that children's and young people's diverse communication needs are met, ascertaining their views and wishes, and acting upon them where appropriate.


• Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of ongoing development.


• Managing complex behaviors that can be challenging.


• Depending on the needs of the child/young person, you may provide personal intimate care and/or nursing care support to holistically support children and young people.


• Working in collaboration and directly with families and other professionals to ensure best outcomes for children and young people.


• Holding or being willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care (paid for).
