Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Band 4 Healthcare Support Associates to enhance our nursing team.

This role requires an individual with strong communication abilities who can collaborate effectively within a team, guided by the Primary Care team.

Applicants must hold a valid registration as a Nursing Associate with the NMC.

Main Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Support Associates will complement the existing nursing workforce, enhancing the skill set and becoming a vital part of the service.

Job Duties:

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and time management skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks while working collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities include providing general nursing care such as catheter management, injections, wound care, and palliative care in various settings.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Foundation degree level education specific to Nursing Associate practice or equivalent
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding of the Nursing Associate role within the context of the organization
  • Knowledge of revalidation processes
  • Effective communication with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff

Desirable Experience:

  • Evidence of additional responsibilities or champion roles

Essential Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Capability to work independently
  • Acknowledgment of personal limitations within the Nursing Associate role
  • Participation in reflective practice

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in IT
