About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedics team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of a registered Nurse to undertake defined responsibilities in the workplace setting.
  • Comply with Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines to ensure safe, compassionate, and competent care is delivered to patients and service users.
  • Support patients with a variety of Orthopaedic injuries and rehabilitation needs, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues to ensure excellent patient care and experience.
  • Participate in the Care Certificate program and complete the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard qualification within 18 months.
Requirements
  • English and Maths qualification at GCSE grades A*-E or Functional Skills Level 1.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQ Level 2/3 in a Health Related area, successful completion of the Care Certificate, and ECDL qualification or equivalent.
  • Essential skills include understanding the role of the Healthcare Support Worker, ability to manage time effectively, and good customer care skills.
  • Desirable skills include working knowledge of Health and Safety, Infection Prevention, and Manual Handling.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment and using computer systems for data entry and retrieval is essential.
  • Previous experience in a health or care setting is desirable.
