About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Compliance Advisory to join our team at Zopa. As a key member of our Compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products and services deliver good customer outcomes and operate in line with internal policies and external rules, requirements, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise product teams on customer and compliance considerations, helping them to identify solutions that deliver good outcomes for customers and meet internal and external policies and requirements.
  • Provide 1st Line oversight of the implementation and ongoing performance of controls to ensure Zopa's products are operating in line with internal policies and external rules, requirements, and regulations.
  • Help the business to manage Regulatory Change projects in response to new or amended regulations impacting Zopa.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues to ensure they are appropriately aware of their responsibilities as it relates to internal policies, external rules, requirements, and regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate and required governance takes place within the product teams, including Regulatory Reporting, management information, and governance reporting.
  • Shape the role and work of the 1st Line Compliance team, ensuring that appropriate processes, documentation, and governance are in place across all areas of the team's responsibilities.
  • Ensure the application and ongoing monitoring of minimum standards and embedding of related policies as required by business and regulation changes, across the area.

About You:

  • Excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape, particularly FCA and broader consumer-focused regulation, as well as previous experience in senior compliance within financial services, ideally within retail banking/consumer credit.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, capable of building and managing the work of high-performing compliance teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex sets of rules/translate regulations into clear language to all levels of staff.
  • You're motivated by driving and facilitating change, delivering better outcomes for customers and the business.
  • ICA/industry qualifications helpful but not essential.
