Leicester, Leicester, United Kingdom Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

At Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, we are pioneering new approaches to support individuals facing relational and emotional challenges. We have secured funding to establish a hub aimed at enhancing Primary Care and the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE). This initiative will focus on promoting trauma-informed practices and fostering peer support networks. We are looking for a Lead Clinical Psychologist to join our team and help shape this innovative hub. This role presents a unique opportunity to leverage psychological expertise to drive meaningful change in the emotional and relational wellbeing of our communities.

Role within Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust

The Trust boasts a comprehensive service framework with psychologists in key leadership positions, including at the directorate level. Our team includes pathway leads specializing in complex trauma, psychosis, and personality disorders, supported by psychologists across various levels. We are dedicated to your professional growth through ongoing training and supervision.

Our psychologists are encouraged to utilize their full skill set, allowing for a balanced focus on teaching, training, research, service enhancement, supervision, reflective practice, and direct clinical engagement with individuals and groups. This environment is conducive to professional development, enabling you to influence the services that our communities require.

Welcome Bonus This position includes a Welcome Bonus of £5,000, structured as follows: an initial payment upon starting, followed by additional payments after specified periods of service. Eligibility criteria apply, including a minimum tenure to avoid repayment obligations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Practitioner, you will integrate into a larger psychologically-informed pathway dedicated to individuals with emotional and relational needs. This pathway comprises a diverse team of over 30 professionals, including Psychologists, Medical Psychotherapists, Peer Support Workers, and Mental Health Practitioners.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Consultant Psychologist/Pathway Lead to establish and manage the new Primary Care/VCSE Hub.
  • Providing day-to-day leadership and delivering psychologically-informed training and consultation.
  • Co-developing innovative strategies to enhance psychological awareness and address emotional and relational challenges within communities.
  • Partnering with an expert by experience lead to foster peer-led initiatives.

We are working collaboratively with other NHS organizations to create a supportive network for the hub's development, where you will play a pivotal role in co-producing evaluations of our innovative practices.

Additionally, you will have the chance to engage clinically within secondary care services for individuals with relational and emotional needs, depending on your professional interests.

We are committed to your continuous development through access to internal and external training programs. Our strong partnership with the University of Leicester offers opportunities for involvement in teaching, trainee placements, and curriculum development. Regular meetings among psychologists across our services facilitate the exchange of ideas and learning.

At Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, we strive to create an exceptional workplace. Should you choose to join us, various schemes are in place to support your well-being and job satisfaction. We also accommodate flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.
