Job Description

Job Title: Radio Communications Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Communications Specialist to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our Managed Solutions team, you will be responsible for providing 2nd line technical support to field-based engineers relating to radio faults, as well as providing technical support for the development, construction, maintenance, and optimization of radio networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 2nd line technical support to field-based engineers relating to radio faults
  • Providing technical support for the development, construction, maintenance, and optimization of radio networks
  • Installing, configuring, and testing radio network equipment and software components
  • Undertaking repairs of various handheld and rack-mounted radio equipment
  • Attending customer sites to perform site surveys, system maintenance, assist with fault finding/repair or project work as necessary
  • Participating in out-of-hours telephone support as part of a rota

Requirements:

  • 2nd line radio repair experience, including maintenance and fault resolution
  • Experience with antenna, PMR installation, and decommissioning
  • Liaison with and coordination of both client and 3rd party contractors
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix-based systems
  • General awareness of RF and electronic test equipment
  • Understanding of IP networks/LAN
