Primary Responsibilities

A remarkable opportunity has emerged within the Cancer Care sector for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to become a part of our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team.

The Cancer Care division is a compassionate, vibrant, and prominent care group that encompasses a diverse array of specialties, ranging from cancer treatment to functioning as a Regional Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

Key Duties

  • Spearhead regulatory adherence, accreditation, registration, or licensure with the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and JACIE.
  • Supervise team members to fulfill requirements for JACIE and HTA compliance.
  • Evaluate intricate information derived from complaints, claims, incident investigations (including serious incidents), audits, and collaborate with performance and contracting teams to formulate suitable action plans for positive transformation.
  • Motivate patients and their caregivers to actively participate in the quality enhancement program.

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Clinical Directors, Medical Teams, Nursing Teams, Management, and Administrative staff to implement an effective quality management program that addresses statutory requirements of JACIE and HTA, as well as the systems of accreditation and regulation within UHS and its satellite units.
  • Lead efforts in regulatory compliance, accreditation, registration, or licensure with HTA and JACIE.
  • Support effective network arrangements concerning JACIE, ensuring they are integrated within the constituent organizations.
  • Manage and maintain credibility with key stakeholders within the Network UHS BMT community, fostering a collaborative culture for the delivery of a robust quality management program related to JACIE. This may involve acting as a neutral party to reconcile differing views and interests.
  • Comprehend, communicate, and implement JACIE standards and the Quality plan through network improvement initiatives. Establish and maintain effective communication channels in line with the diverse needs of stakeholders involved in the JACIE quality program and its satellite units.
  • Cultivate a culture of clinical engagement and influence, ensuring that improvement initiatives are effectively led and managed throughout the quality program.
  • Encourage patients and their caregivers to actively engage in the quality program.
  • Ensure collaboration between the hub and satellite units where synergies in pathways exist.
  • Oversee team members to meet JACIE and HTA compliance requirements, supporting the execution of daily activities and projects.
  • Follow up on external inspections and verify the completion of corrective actions as required by inspection reports.
  • Interpret and assess the relevance of national policies and guidance concerning JACIE and HTA.
  • Liaise with divisional and corporate leads to agree upon and achieve deliverables as necessary.
  • Analyze complex information from complaints, claims, incident investigations (including serious incidents), audits, and collaborate with performance and contracting teams to develop appropriate action plans for positive change.
  • Triangulate information from incidents, complaints, and claims, providing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that integrate data from clinical governance activities related to the BMTCT program.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Essential

  • Master's degree or relevant experience.

  • Previous relevant experience as a quality manager.
  • Proficiency in using document control systems.
  • Familiarity with JACIE and HTA.
  • Ability to analyze complex/highly complex data and produce graphs, reports, and analyses.
